PV Water Management Agency receives $279,815 for levee projectSanta Cruz Sentinel
The California Department of Water Resources has given the Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency $279,815 to help cover the planning and engineering costs of the Pajaro River levee project.
The grant money comes from bonds issued under Prop. 50, a water bond measure approved by voters several years ago and is part of an Integrated Regional Water Management Grant of $25 million to cover a suite of projects in the Pajaro River watershed.
"The money will be promptly paid back to the county of Santa Cruz to reimburse funds that were spent on hydraulic and engineering consultants to expedite the analysis of the Army Corps of Engineers Corps, and to accelerate the overall project schedule," Bruce Laclergue, Flood Control Program manager for the county of Santa Cruz said in a statement.
